A csr initiative by M/s Fiat India automobiles ltd, set in a rural landscape, the design was aimed at creating a bi-functional space accommodating an anganwadi for children and a welfare center dedicated to the women folk of the mukhai village.
The design was aimed at creating children centric environment satisfying functional needs on an independent land of 5000 sq ft located in Shirur taluka. With the design of ample of play area and covered verandah for dining activity for anganwadi, the project was conceived as a single unit with coherent amalgamation of both these independent functions.
Adoption of structural system with rcc slab roof for flexibility and minimum maintenance, creating the storage areas with the staggered arrangement of external walls is the functional highlight of the building.
Application of warm hued patches on the projections around the window openings aides in manifesting joy, happiness and creates an environment conducive to learning and development of small children.
